New York, NY, March 11, 2015 – It is no secret that Tina Fabrique, jazz vocalist/actress/songwriter, loves the music of Ella Fitzgerald. She has received rave reviews from her award-winning musical Ella since she created the show in 2005. Now, she brings Tribute to Ella Fitzgerald to Jazz at Kitano, 66 Park Avenue at 38th Street in Manhattan, on Friday, March 13, at 8:00 pm and 10:00 pm.  Lafayette Harris (piano), Eric Wheeler (bass) and Dwayne “Cook” Broadnax (drums) join Fabrique for the tribute.

Cover charge is $30 + $15 food/beverage minimum. For reservations and more information, call (212) 885-7119 or visit www.kitano.com/Jazz-Schedule.

Reviewers have described Fabrique's tribute as "giving voice to a legend" ... "channeled the spirit and songs of Ella" ... "captures the purity that made Fitzgerald's voice so powerful" while she "locates Ella's persona and fuses it with her own impressive musicality"  with "a voice that is comfort food for the soul."  She has toured "Ella" for the past seven years and has presented the show at 25 regional theaters. Breaking box office records across the nation, Tina has received the Kevin Kline Award, The Acclaim Award, The Carbonell Award, and was nominated for the Helen Hayes Award.

Tina Fabrique has performed around the world with the Duke Ellington Orchestra under the direction of Mercer Ellington, and also worked with Roland Hanna, Houston Person, George Coleman, Norman Simmons, Danny Mixon, George Caldwell, Stanley Banks, Frank Owens and Onaje Allan Gumbs. In addition, she has shared the stage with some of the world's great vocalists, including Abbey Lincoln, Carmen McCrae and Joe Williams.

Fabrique is a member of the International Women in Jazz and has studied with the be-bop master Barry Harris. She also will be featured at the Lady Got Chops Music and Arts Festival at Brownstone Jazz, 107 Macon Street, in Brooklyn on March 15, 4:00-7:00 pm.
