Newport Jazz Festival®
presented by Natixis Global Asset Management
Welcomes North Coast Brewing Co.
As 2014 Official Beer Sponsor

NEWPORT, RI, July 31, 2014 – The Newport Jazz Festival® presented by Natixis Global Asset Management welcomes North Coast Brewing Co. as the Official Beer Sponsor for the 6oth anniversary of the iconic festival, which takes place at historic Fort Adams State Park and the International Tennis Hall of Fame at the Newport Casino August 1 -3.

To introduce the beers, there will be special “beer education” sessions held once a day at the Louis Jadot Café near the Quad Café.   Those who partake will be able to meet the owner of the Brewery and do a tasting of three different beers for a $5 donation, which goes to the Newport Festivals Foundation, Inc.    Sessions are scheduled for 1:00 pm on Friday and at 1:45 pm on Saturday and Sunday.

The official beers include Brother Thelonious Belgian Style Abbey Ale, named in honor of the renowned jazz pianist Thelonious Monk.  For every purchase of Brother Thelonious Style Abby Ale, including at the Newport Jazz Festival, North Coast Brewing makes a contribution to the Thelonious Monk Institute.

“North Coast Brewing Co. is proud to be the official beer partner of the 60th Newport Jazz Festival.  We are always looking for ways to support Jazz and we believe partnering with the crown jewel of Jazz festivals is a great way to do that.  We’re thrilled to be part of the sixtieth,” said Doug Moody, Vice President of Sales & Distribution.

A pioneer in the craft beer movement, North Coast Brewing Co. opened in 1988 as a local brewpub in the historic town of Fort Bragg, located on California’s rugged Mendocino Coast. Over the last quarter century, North Coast has grown from a small microbrewery into one of the most respected craft breweries in the world, developing a reputation for producing exceptional quality beers that are available in 48 states and exported to South and Central America, Canada, Europe and the Pacific Rim. The brewery has won more than 70 awards in national and international tasting competitions. North Coast Brewing brands include Red Seal Ale, Scrimshaw Pilsner, Old No. 38 Stout, Blue Star Wheat Beer, Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout, PranQster Belgian Style Golden Ale, Acme Pale Ale, Acme IPA, Old Stock Ale, Brother Thelonious Belgian Style Abbey Ale, Le Merle Saison, Grand Cru, Old Stock Ale Cellar Reserve and Barrel Aged Old Rasputin. northcoastbrewing.com
