"This concert is not for just the jazz aficionado, but for everyone who wants to experience an unforgettable evening of beautiful music," said George Wein, Festival founder and producer since it began in 1954. "Last year Chris Botti won a much-deserved Grammy, and in concert will give you a set of music that emphasizes jazz's appeal to anyone who loves good music. Jon Batiste has become beloved as one of Newport's own, with his piano artistry and his magical use of the melodica."

The Newport Jazz Festival opening night cocktail party on the Horseshoe Piazza welcomes a limited number of attendees for pre-concert socializing with music, food and beverages. Tickets include open bar and hors d’oeuvres.  Party attendees must have a separate ticket to the Festival concert.

Tickets for Newport Jazz Festival concerts at Fort Adams State Park on Friday afternoon ($40) and specially-priced $55 Flex tickets are also on sale now.  Flex tickets can be used for adult general admission either Saturday or Sunday to the concerts at Fort Adams State Park; fans can buy tickets now and decide later which day to attend.

The complete line-up for the Newport Jazz Festival presented by Natixis Global Asset Management will be announced at a later date.  For more information, go to www.newportjazzfest.org or www.newportfestivalsfoundation.org.
