NEWPORT, RI, July 1, 2014 – Just six more days to get the great local discount for Newport Jazz Festival® tickets. Head to the Newport Visitors Information Center, 23 America’s Cup Avenue, or the Newport Festivals Foundation™ office at 770 Aquidneck Avenue in Middletown by July 6 to take advantage of $55 General Admission tickets for concerts at Fort Adams State Park on Saturday, August 2, and Sunday, August 3.  Beginning Monday, July 7, single-day tickets for Saturday and Sunday will be $74 in advance and then $84 on festival days.  This special discount for local residents and visitors to Newport is not available on-line.

General Admission tickets to Friday at Fort Adams (August 1) are $40 and also available at the Visitors Information Center and Festival office.

In addition, students can purchase special $20 Student tickets at the Festival office and Visitors Information Center.  High school students older than 15 and college students must use the Student Gate and present valid ID to enter the festival.  Students without valid ID will be directed to the Box Office to pay the difference of a General Admission ticket.

All single and multiple-day tickets can be purchased at the Festival office and on-line at www.newportjazzfest.org and www.ticketmaster.com. Services charges apply for all on-line purchases.

Hours for the Newport Festivals Foundation office are Tuesday – Friday, 12:00 – 6:00 pm, and Saturday, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm.  The office is closed Sunday and Monday and July 4.

The Newport Jazz Festival presented by Natixis Global Asset Management includes Jon Batiste and Stay Human, Cécile McLorin Salvant, Rudresh Mahanthappa, John Zorn’s Masada Marathon, Snarky Puppy and Miguel Zenón & The “Identities” Big Band on Friday afternoon at Fort Adams. Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis plus Dee Dee Bridgewater featuring Theo Croker take the stage at the International Tennis Hall of Fame at the Newport Casino on Friday evening. On Saturday, catch Jazz at Lincoln Center with Wynton Marsalis, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Gregory Porter, Pedrito Martinez Group, Dick Hyman, Howard Alden & Jay Leonhart and Robert Glasper Experiment. Sunday concerts include Bobby McFerrin spirityouall, David Sanborn & Joey DeFrancesco, Gary Burton New Quartet, Ravi Coltrane, Mingus Big Band and Lee Konitz Quartet with special guest Grace Kelly.
